Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
This explains what CGS collects about you, why, who sees it, and the control you have. We have tried to keep it plain.
1. What we collect
- Account details: name, preferred name, email, date of birth, state, optional phone number, and your parent or guardian’s email if you are under 18. Your password is stored only in a protected, hashed form.
- Profile: your education history (classes, courses), any experience, and the optional “About you” text.
- Assessment: the conversation with the AI mentor, the scores and facts drawn from it, and the reports, roadmaps, fit results and saved careers made for you.
- Use of the service: your plan, credit balance and what credits were spent on, plus basic technical data such as request logs needed to keep the service safe.
2. Why we use it
- To run the assessment and produce your report, roadmaps and fit results.
- To remember your profile so the mentor does not ask the same things again.
- To manage your account, plan and credits, and to keep the service secure and fair.
- To improve the assessment, only if you turn on “Data sharing for AI improvement” in Settings (off by default). Then anonymised answers may be used.
3. Consent and children
We process your data with your consent, which you give when you accept these documents and can withdraw by deleting your account. If you are under 18, we need a parent or guardian’s permission, and we ask for their email for that reason. We do not show advertising and do not track children for advertising.
4. Who receives your data
We do not sell your data. It goes only to:
- Google, whose Gemini models write the mentor’s replies, reports and roadmaps. We send the text needed for the answer (your messages and relevant profile details). We do not send your password or contact details for this.
- The hosting and database services that run CGS.
- Payment and email providers, once those are added. We will list them here first.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your profile, assessments and reports. Some records, such as payment records, may be kept for as long as the law requires.
6. Your choices
In Settings you can change your details and password, download all your data as a file, switch AI data sharing on or off, and delete your account. You may also ask us to correct or erase data, or to explain how it is used, by writing to us below. We will answer within a reasonable time, and in any case within the time the law sets.
You can also make a complaint to us first, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India once it is in place.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, access is limited, and passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly safe. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
9. Changes
We will update this policy when our practice changes and show the new date at the top. See also the Terms of Service.
10. Contact and grievances
You can write to us from the Help & Support page after you sign in.
